DAY 1 ARRIVE IN LHASA
When you arrive in Lhasa either by train or flight, your guide will greet you and take you to your hotel .An route to view the Yarlung Tsangpo River/ Bhamaputra river (the Longest and largest river in Tibet) and Lhasa river.
After arriving in Lhasa ,you can take a rest and acclimatize to plateau environment. If you feel to go out, then you can go to the Potala square, where you will enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of the Potala and around.
DAY 2 LHASA CITY SIGHTSEEING – POTALA PALACE – JOKHANG TEMPLE – BARKHOR STREET (B)
Today’s tour will first bring you to the Potala Palace which is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It was put to use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
Then after lunch, tourists head to Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century, in order to promote the Buddhist religion. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve, perhaps the only most venerated object in Tibetan Buddhism. Around the temple is Barkhor street where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, in the meantime you can buy souvenirs.
DAY 3 LHASA – YAMDROK LAKE – KAROLA GLACIER – GYANTSE (KUMBUM MONASTERY) – SHIGATSE (B)
You need to get up early, cause the tour guide and the driver will drive you to Shigatse after breakfast. On the way, you’ll cross over Gangbala Mountain at an altitude of 4,900 meters and then advance towards Yamdrok Lake, one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It’s believed that the water there is among the most beautiful in the world. And the local Tibetans believe that people can be blessed by the god by turning a circle around the lake. The lake, surrounded by snow mountains, mirrors the pure sky and cotton- like clouds. When you drive along the bank of the Yamdrok Lake, you’ll pass through Carola Glacier, which stands near the road.
Then, you’ll arrive at Simila Mountain, where you can hang a prayer’s flag and wish upon it. According to the locals, your wish will definitely come true someday. And after some time, you’ll arrive at Jiangzi town, a hero town fighting the British. It has a history of more than 600 years and is a traffic fort in Tibet.
And then you can visit Baiju Temple, which integrates the three major sects of Tibetan Buddhism. There are a total of 100,000 Buddha statues in the Buddhist temples and murals. You can have a bird view over the green forest of this town. After another hour and a half journey, you’ll arrive in the second largest city in Tibet -Shigatse.
DAY 4 SHIGATSE – TINGRI – RONGPHU MONASTERY – EVEREST BASE CAMP (B)
In the early morning, you’ll visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the largest temple in Shigatse. The sound of chanting sutras will empower you for the rest of the journey. And you can leave for Everest Base Camp and enjoy your lunch in Latse.
After passing through Zuola Pass and Gyatso La Pass, you’re officially entering the scenic area of Everest Base Camp. You have to open your eyes wide as to film the majestic look of Himalaya in your heart.
You will soon arrive at the Rongbuk Monastery after zigzagging the winding mountain road. As the tents of the Everest Base Camp in winter have been evacuated, you can stay overnight at the monastery. We’ll provide you with a warm and comfortable room. We will provide Tibetan blankets for outdoor activities. But you’d better stay in the room at night because of the dropping temperature.

At an altitude of 5,200 meters, you may have a headache and find it difficult to fall asleep. This is a normal phenomenon. Don’t be overly alarmed. Please relax yourself and follow the tour guide’s instruction.
DAY 5 EVEREST BASE CAMP – SHIGATSE
You can go outdoors early, and enjoy the fantastic scene of the Everest shaded by the morning glow. It is like a goddess dressed in a dazzling Chinese costume, strolling in the Himalayas. After breakfast, you can visit the Rongbuk Monastery, which boasts high altitude and features exquisite scenery. Then, you will say goodbye to the magnificent Himalayas and return to Shigatse.
DAY 6 SHIGATSE – LHASA (B)
You don’t have to be too hasty on the way back. You’ll stay for a while at the Yalong River Valley to enjoy the great scenery there. The blue sky, beaches and valleys, alpine vegetation and the dotted sunshine on the mountains will all leave you unforgettable impressions. When you arrive in Lhasa, the tour guide will accompany you to the hotel.
DAY 7 DEPART FROM LHASA (B)
Today is free for you until your tour guide transfer you to the airport in time for your flight or drop you off at Lhasa train station.
Tips of Today: 1) please pack your luggage carefully, especially for small things like camera charger, power adaptor, mobile phone, phone charger, wallet and towel; 2) If your flight is arranged in the afternoon, please make sure you check out the hotel before 12pm.
