Respuesta breve

A four-day plan for Lhasa that keeps the first day empty and puts the Potala on day two.

Four days in Lhasa

Arrive and check in

Meet your guide at Gonggar Airport or Lhasa station and transfer to the hotel. Nothing else is planned.

A short walk

If you feel well, walk to Barkhor Street before dinner. Eat lightly and sleep early.

Why this order works

The empty first afternoon and the late start on day two give your body time to adjust before the Potala stairs. The Jokhang and Barkhor are flat, so they follow. Drepung and Sera involve more walking, so they come on day three when you feel better. If you feel unwell, tell your guide and swap the day around.
