What about Kumbum Monastery?

Kumbum (Ta’er Si) is a Tibetan Buddhist Gelug monastery founded in 1583, located 25 km southwest of Xining. It is the birthplace of Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), the founder of the Gelug school, and houses one of the most important butter sculpture collections in Tibetan Buddhism.
